I have tried several times to find some way to express my irritation with these ads to their producers or companies but I can find nothing. Just curious if this strikes any cord with my fellow FReepers as the reason for this, my very first total [Vanity].

A really annoying one is the white guy trying to tempt the black guy into spending his retirement savings to buy the more expensive grill because it has a built-in spice rack.

I was tired when ads have all Reagan look alikes
I was tired when ads have all Clinton look alikes
They never had Bush look alikes
Now we have all Obama look-alikes.
The all knowing woman/black man scenario?
Been going on for years and is truly tiresome.

“AT&T ad campaign with the current one showing the husband/father totally unable to manage while the all-knowing female was away.”
the reason these are funny is is because it’s the total opposite of reality.

You are not alone. The constant portrayal of white males as idiots, scuzzballs, or crooks in commercials is in your face offensive. With any other group or sex, there would be howls of indignation and demands for retractions. With WMs, nothing.

I agree with you 100% with regard to the constant put down of white men.
Time Warner had one recently that really p*ssed me off (stupid husband / wife to the rescue), so I called them to cancel my account.
They apologized and passed me on to a "solutions" team where I ended up with a $20/month reduction in my bill.

Yep, as I’ve said, the unalterable script is:
The female is the all-knowing wise one who has it all together and usually makes the decisions, or at least the rational ones.
The White male is always the incapable, child-like buffoon, especially in relation to any female or any child.
The minority, usually Black, is the cool hipster. Nothing untoward EVER happens to this person. (Ever see a Red Apple Ale commercial, for example? Does a Black cool guy ever get hit by an apple? Nope. Only the White guy gets struck in the head by an apple).

One of the foundation blocks of western humor is the taking down of those in charge. As long as white males run the world we’ll be a humor target. Take it as a compliment.

Do what I do...refuse to buy products from those advertisers who think it is ok to portray us as ignorant racist sexist bigots!

The ones that really annoy me are the ones where the children are smarter than the parent. Such as the one where the kid is walking with his very professional looking father asking him investment questions that make Dad look stupid. Another one where child will save Dad’s life by having him eat Cheerios. Just two examples of many.

I have tried several times to find some way to express my irritation with these ads to their producers or companies but I can find nothing. There's a button on your remote control that does exactly that, but it sounds like you haven't tried it yet. Try turning your TV off.

It is not just Madison Avenue ad writers. Shows for tweens on Disney and other trendy networks always have the kids talking back to parents and especially to any White male that manages an appearance.

There is one which comes on several times a day. It starts out with a Black female saying “Women can do anything men can do” then it goes downhill from there. It is about heart disease and no real reason to have a snarky anti male female in it.
Just one of many Allstate ads begins with an idiot male saying something like “men are better drivers” then the female then comes in and makes him look like an idiot with her check for safe driving.
I want to tell Allstate to just lower their rates rather than give you some of your money back.
Anyway those type ads are all over TV.

Get used to it - Hillary’s running for President.
In six months you’ll see ads with men in diapers and women cracking castration jokes.
Oh wait, that’s already happening...
