Pizza has long been one of mans best friends. Crispy, cheesy, melty, meaty its a winning proposition all around. One of the beauties of pizza is how well it makes multiple meals. The ginormous 20-inch NY-style pepperoni pizza above (from the stupendous Fat Sullys here in Denver) provided 5 delicious meals over the course of 4 days. How many other foods can do that for ya?
The real problem (if you can really call it a problem) is figuring out the best way to eat it after Day 1. There are of course those that believe that reheating pizza in any fashion constitutes true sacrilege that one should always eat their leftovers cold. Certainly, cold pizza can be a delicious and easy option.
But sometimes you want something warm in your belly and wish to bring back the original flavors and get the hot grease flowing again. How should you go about doing so? Do you pop it in the microwave? Throw it on the grill? Luckily for you, we decided to test out the best ways to reheat your pizza. Our findings may surprise you (as they did me), and may in fact lead to a slice of pie that was even better than the original.
Me too. About the only thing that gives me indigestion.
However I won't refuse some on a pizza. Lots of onion, green pepper, olives, mushrooms, Italian sausage, olive oil.
Are those flat worms? Cooked or alive? :^)
My college buddy and I did a lot of engine top cooking on two cross country trips. My old Land Rover was great as it had a nice flat manifold. The only problem was when he tried to heat a can of beans and forgot to pierce the lid. Explosion at 50 mph. What remained of the beans was good but the engine needed a thorough hosing.
4. Enjoy with hot coffee.
Love deep-dish, but different set of standards definitely apply.
Cast iron skillet is really good for just about anything!
Well played, sir.
Never!!
I never reheat pizza.
I kind of like cold pizza leftovers
Try it on a webber grill, charcoal, no gas.
Those look like slugs from the garden on that pizza.
2. Pizza with anchovies is perfection.
Amen !
Pizza, hot from the oven (or just delivered/picked up), is one food group.
Leftover pizza, cold & directly from the fridge the next day, is another food group.
Never the twain should meet...
Lamp Post Pizza for us. Pepperoni, sausage, bell pepper, and cooked tomatoes.
Into the microwave on 50% just until the cheese is translucent.
Then into a non-stick pan on medium low flame, partially covered, until the cheese starts to run into the pan.
The top crust comes out light and puffy, while the bottom is crisp enough to pick it up without it collapsing.
They didn’t cut the pizza so it didn’t fly apart. When some fans pointed out the error of an unsliced pizza the writers included a scene in a later season with Jesse and his stoner pals ordering one and having to find something to slice it with because the restaurant doesn’t slice it and passes the savings on to you.
The fry pan & lid are best, but if you only have 1 slice it may not be enough for breakfast.
Fry an egg and drop it on top!
