So what is so wrong about a .38special?

Absolutely nothing, especially when using +p rounds. All of my revolvers are .357 but I generally load them .38 +p rounds when carrying. Follow up shots are much quicker and more accurate with the .38 loads. I can shoot very accurately with .357 but follow up shots and recovery time is much slower. However, you can't beat the stopping power of a .357 (actually, you can with a .44 magnum but I've never been accurate with one.)

Nothing. Nothing at all; the .38 special makes them stop doing whatever it is at the time that they're doing. It's common and ubiquitous, you can always pick up a box of .38 even at the smallest hardware store in Dipstick, Oklahoma.

At least in my experience it's the easiest handgun cartridge there is to handload.

Oh, and in a revolver it goes blam every time unless there's something really bad wrong.

We all love to fuss over this caliber or that one, this handgun or that one, etc, but the whole entire handgun conversation starts with the .38 special IMO.

Thanks for bringing it up.
