BOOM ! Our suspicions were 100% accurate in the review of all prior information coming from the released details.

An “accidental” self-induced injury stemming from Freddie Gray standing, not being seat-belted; and as a consequence of the van moving/stopping, Freddie Gray impacting the wall of the transport van. Also including the presence of opiates and cannabinoid within his toxicology report.

He may have figured if he ran into the door he would be ejected through the roof and come back down miles away floating down on a golden parachute.

I doubt you're very far off. He was faking an injury because he was dragging his feet when approaching the van to be put in it. They layed him on the floor yet he got to his feet even though his wrists and ankles were shackled. He was so high he probably felt nothing.

The more detailed report I read said it was noted several times that Gray was intentionally thrashing around and banging on the walls.. If he had remained, prone, he would not have been injured.

The M.E. also mentioned that he could have had convulsions. That would be consistent with heroin overdose.

If they did not follow police procedure then this would be handled administratively. It is not a crime to not follow police procedure.

How long did it take to get to the station, and how many miles was it, how many stops were made, and for how long?

If you don’t follow procedure and someone dies, they may very well be a crime.

Heroin overdose exhibits these symptoms. Problems breathing, convulsions, cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, coma. Gray had every one of those. He likely swallowed the drugs he was dealing once he was pursued.

We all have been in vehicles. You are not thrown about during a ride on a city street.

But I still wonder about the driving. No, we aren't thrown about by riding on a city street, yet the coroner surmised

he may have gotten to his feet and was thrown into the wall during an abrupt change in direction

While driving on city streets you usually don't experience "abrupt changes in direction." Of course the bottom line is, why wasn't he buckled in as the rules state? Has there been any explanation of that?

They certainly can’t say they didn’t check on him during the ride. They stopped numerous times to put different restraints on him, and to return him to the seat, or place on the floor. It sounds like he was continually changing his position in the van, and that in itself contributed to his injuries.

Apparently the level of heroin was high enough that the M.E. says he could have been having convulsions. This from a Baltimore paper that claims they have the autopsy.

No we haven't.

You think we have all been inside of a vehicle like post 13 shows, with our hands cuffed behind our packs?

Good questions. I can say that the hateful, racist, murdering driver of the Van was black. /s

It took about 40 minutes, with 4 stops. It was a 3 prisoner compartment van.

First, those symptoms are far from unique to heroin overdose. They are also consistent with, for example, a severe head and neck injury.

Second, I was responding to a poster who suggested that, because Gray was "high on drugs," it is likely that he hurt himself by trying to violently throw himself against the door. That's just not the type of behavior one would expect from someone high on the types of drugs found in his system.

“We all have been in vehicles.”

We have all NOT been in vehicles with our hands and feet shackled... NOT buckling him in while shackled is criminal. Period.

They're responsible for his death

If the autopsy is to be believed, the police did not cause Gray's death, his injuries were self-inflicted.

Heroin was found in his system. Even the M.E. said that he may have been having convulsions. There were several notations of him thrashing around in the back of the van. That is why they checked him several times and added restraints.

The M.E. also aid that the injury likely occurred after the third stop, based on the timeline, video and statements of the officers. This was reported by the Baltimore paper that had the autopsy.

So who were the other “passengers” taking the ride with him, and what was the significance of saying that they averaged “7 MPH”?
