I think it’s part of the “neo-antisemitism”.
They observe that the “whites”, ie, those who follow Western Civ’s value system, tend to prosper,
and rather than attribute that prosperity to the value system (and adopt it),
they prefer to attribute it to an exploitation of those who aren’t as prosperous.
Not all societies that had slaves are currently prosperous, so that IS NOT the common factor, obviously.

That is an excellent point. It is typical of the liberal mindset to deny personal responsibility. “They didn’t build that...somebody else made that happen.”
