Prayers up. I’m maybe a year away from needing a replacement lens m’self.
Keep us posted.
It's no longer considered necessary for the cataracts to "ripen"....when I learned that from wifey's surgeon, I immediately got my peepers repaired also....20/20 is great, but we went with the type of implant that still requires reading glasses - due to a higher incidence of complications with the total correction lenses.
I had mine done about 18 months ago. Opted for the more expensive lens. Worked fine in the right eye, done first. The surgeon went ‘Oops’ on the left eye, so had to have the standard lens in that one. Surgery on left eye took 40 minutes, instead of the normal 20 minutes. After the surgery I had to renew my DL and passed the eye test w/o glasses. I wore glasses from the time I was five years old, thick heavy lenses. Lots of astigmatism.
I wear my glasses much of the time, as my distance vision is much better with them. Here at the computer I do not wear them...see better without them.
Wish I could have had this done when I was five!!!
Be glad you’re having the surgery. I’ve had both of my eyes done and am far better off than before.
