allegories of internal spiritual things

1st Rule of Biblical Prophecy interpretation: If it make sense literally, the literal interpretation is the one you go with.

Aside from that, I disagree with much of this interpretation. It’s pretty clear that Iran will make client states of much of the Mid East - Iraq, Afghanistan, possibly Syria and Pakistan, thus re-creating a new Persian Empire.

But, this author takes much of his material from Ezekiel 38 & 39 which speaks of an invasion led by a “northern” power - probably Russia - and it further lists other countries allied with this “northern” power, Persia being one of them.

This invasion force is destroyed by God when it sweeps through and occupies Israel. Obviously, Israel and her allies are the instrument of God’s wrath.

In any case, I can’t see Iran, or Persia, as being the predominate driving force for this conflagration.

No, it is not obvious.

First--name Israel's allies. You can't, because she does not currently have any. We are walking away and arming her enemies. the US certainly can't be called an ally.

Second, Scripture says those armies will be destroyed in such a way as it will be patently obvious to even the most atheistic of people that it was God who destroyed them--not some army who happened to get lucky against a superior force.
