I had to watch the remake at least 2 or 3 times. There is even a scene where there’s a little joke. When the major goes into the library to research some of his “tinfoil” information there’s an Elvis-looking guy sitting there, too.
Jon Voight was really good as well.
But there was a definite angle by the left. That’s why Al Franken is cast as a “reporter” - nontheless, the blind devotion to a warm-and-fuzzy-talking politician was nothing short of prophetic.
They probably still cannot see the forest for the trees.
Oh, also the blind devotion to a politician with a sketchy past involving a lot of myth, pushed by politicians and the media, was unintentionally-prophetic, too.
