How the Iran deal is good for Israel, according to Israelis who know what they’re talking about

In the aftermath of the deal over Iran's nuclear program announced in Vienna last week, attention immediately centered on the reaction in one country that was never a direct party to the talks: Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was swift and uncompromising in his criticism, declaring the accord a "historic mistake," and reiterating his long-standing opposition to rapprochement with the Islamic Republic. His anger was echoed by his center-left political opponents in the Israeli parliament.

[Netanyahu wants 'permanent' conflict with Iran, says Britain's top diplomat.]

But while Israel's politicians may be singing from the same song sheet, others are less sure. Prominent members of the country's security establishment have come out at various stages of the negotiations in support of the Obama administration's efforts. Some of these men have been consistently vocal in their opposition to Netanyahu's hard-line rhetoric, which included a controversial speech to the U.S. Congress earlier this year.

Welcome, Contrarians! I really don't believe that the Iran deal is good for Israel. I think it's a trick played on us by the brain, that when we find ourselves in conditions that are otherwise hopeless, our brain will make us think that what we thought was bad for us, turned out to be a positive development.

The truth is I really don't know but don't trust the Iranians so under the worst case scenario I'll conclude that it is bad. Why do they need a nuclear device, anyway?

If the deal causes a major Shia vs Sunni conflict it will be good for Israel. When your enemies are at war with each other you sit back and enjoy.

The “Iran deal” is good only for Iran and Islamic terrorism!

It is not only bad, it is horribly bad for Israel. Liberals side with liberals no matter what.

Other countries that support the deal may not be doing so to harm Israel, but the result is the same. It is very very very bad for Israel and the entire world.

It irks me at Russia that they had a hand in this. But then Iran isn’t shouting “Death to Russia.” It is death to Israel and America that they always chant.

Utopian fantasists deny reality with their naive faith in their ability to make everything turn out right. They never succeed. They always bring catastrophe in their wake because they never accept reality.
Obama and his witless minions have brought us to the precipice of Armageddon. Their madness will cost millions of lives, again.

The Iran deal may be good for Homs, the IRGC, & Islamic terrorism, but it will only make things worse for the Persians wrt to their freedom. It’s like feeding a monster & they will be eaten first.

It is bad for the Middle East, bad for Europe, bad for America, & horrendous for Israel.

it doesn’t take much work or imagination to find anti-Jewish Jews in Israel!
(just like in NYC)

The Jewish people have obviously been afflicted with anti-survivalist “Jews” in their midst far beyond any affliction they individually or collectively deserve

They are clear traitors and some are indistinguishable from outright Nazis, except that some of them suffer from a mental disease (called by some Jewish Suicide Syndrome) which is somewhat similar to how Patty Hearst, badly victimized, responded by actually joining her kidnappers’ gang. As such, they may be extended a little compassion. But they nevertheless must be kept away from any and all policy or governing positions... lest their damaged psyches/mental processes be magnified to lead to the deaths of millions of innocent others.

This story is an interesting take on the frequent FReeper questions about why Israel doesn’t do more to “take down” Obama.

Israel’s intelligence services are loaded with extreme Leftists, much as our State Department. How extreme they are is shown by a mere mention in the story; even main Netanyahu opposition leader Buji Herzog concedes Bibi is right on Iran now that elections are over.

Separately, there are legitimate feelings in Israel that Iranians are ultimately civilized and decent people and not really ready to sacrifice for crazed mullahs.

I think Ophonybama, John Effing Kerry and their LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist thugs achieved precisely what they wanted: to further destabilize the World and, in the process, further marginalize America’s role on the World stage.

They plan to spend the rest of their time in office doing more of the same.
