He is asking the wrong questions. The correct two questions are:
“How many people have the natural right to defend themselves and their family?”
“In a properly functioning society, should the citizens fear the criminals or the other way round?”
If no one had guns, the guy with the biggest club or knife or fist would have his way with everyone around him.
