I like Ted Cruz, but he's not going to win, and remains in the lower echelon of the first debate cutoff. I am highly suspicious of Walker's ability to "ramp up" his ideas to a national vision. To me he's stuck in "small ball." Likewise, Cruz, for whatever reason, has been unable to gin up the enthusiasm of ordinary people. I was in PHX when Trump, with no prior ads or media exposure except one story in the paper, took a meeting that supposedly was only going to have 1500 and turned it into an event with 20,000. He has the ability to speak big picture issues to the people.
So, you can have your purism. Right now, I'll vote for Trump and if he's not in, Cruz, maybe Walker, and after that, I'll sit home.
Trump and Carson are my choices. Cruz could have been President, but he sold out on the trade bill, the Corker bill, H-B visas, etc. Look at the two donors shelling out over 10 million. No one does that without expecting something. One is an energy investor company.

I guess I do like Trump in part because he doesn’t have to go begging for money. But I don’t really trust him. On the other hand, I don’t think he’s going to say something that he doesn’t believe just to get votes.
I like what Trump says (mostly) but I have no level of comfort whatsoever that he actually believes what he says.
I believe that he is very good at saying what conservatives want to hear, but I have no confidence that if he were to get the nomination, he would immediately change whatever he says to suit swing voters and liberals.
That may well be what most politicians do to get elected, but...I don’t think that is what this country needs.
Personally, I don’t like Trump, he comes across like a blowhard to me, but...well, I haven’t seen many politicians that don’t fit that description.
Sigh. I just hope it doesn’t come down to me having to pull a lever to choose between Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Argh. I can’t stand it.
I just watched Trump (on the phone) on “This Week” with Jonathan Karl and Trump said, (I paraphrase)the enemy is chopping off Christian heads and you are worried about waterboarding? I like waterboarding, it is very effective.
Exactly. I’d pick Cruz, then Walker, probably not Trump until after a few more.
BUT if we are talking who can win, probably it’s Walker first.
I think Cruz is the only 100% conservative.
I agree—Walker is a Tim Pawlenty without principle, just ambition.
Cruz I like, but I don’t think is electable at the top of the ticket.
Trump is looking better and better to me all the time.
