The very first day of office in 2009, POSUS signed Exec Order 13489 to seal his own records. Did Dubya, Clinton or Reagan do that?

I know we found out that “boy genius” BJ Clinton has an SAT score of 1032.

Does the sealing of the records continue after he leaves office??

How can this type of thing be legal? I would assume that all info regarding any president should be made public.

“...Did Dubya, Clinton or Reagan do that?...”

Not to put too fine a point on it, but “Yes”.

See Reagan’s EO-12667 and HW.Bush’s EO-13233.

Bush’s EO expanded/lengthened Reagan’s time-periods for a President to say “No” to a release of info and 0bama’s reverted the policy to being similar to Reagan’s. None of them apply to any records preceding the corresponding President’s presidential term and they apply to all living former Presidents, not just 0bama.

0Bama has plenty of faults to the point of being truly evil that he can be righteously critiqued for. This is probably not one we should be all that concerned about, as it seems to be standard fare for all presidents regardless of party. It isn’t unique to 0bama and it has no applicability to any records prior to the start of their first term in office.

This is why when I hear something in modern politics — whether good, bad or indifferent for either party — I like to take a moment to google it myself and see if it can be taken at face value. Sadly, everything gets a healthy does of “spin” these days and it is safe to assume what you hear ain’t exactly so. This especially applies to “good news”. I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop when the truth finally comes out. Of course, I could just be jaded from the non-stop GOP disappointments since Hussein’s election...
