Did you happen to read “The America We Deserve” 2000; or “Time to Get Tough” 2011? I would guess not, you just accept what you read in the newspapers or hear on TV right?

He’s admitted repeatedly he’s a liberal. Everything he’s saying in this race is a pure lie. Just because he “sounds” conservative doesn’t mean anything. It’s all a lie. He’s not pro American sovereignty. He doesn’t care about it.

I don't believe you...

Walker can’t take hold because he is pretty boring. He is unable to attract attention.

No fire in Scott. He may be a nice guy, but he will not win the nomination.

The first step toward fixing any problem is grasping the seriousness of it. For example, if you have cancer and a Dr diagnoses it as anemia, that Dr will not cure you.

Have any of the candidates besides Trump accurately assessed the severity of our wide open border problem? If so, quotes, please.

Wow, that is sad. You might rethink your supoport of Walker if you are that cynical.

I can’t see any upside in a vote for him.

I don’t know who you support, so this is just a general thought. Namely, do you recall the time, not so long ago, that Cruz joined Beck in giving teddy bears and soccer balls to the illegal horde? I can only imagine if Trump had done that. We’d never hear the end of it.

Immigration is a classic political conundrum (for politicians) On the one hand they do want to do something and on the other they don’t want to lose the hispanic vote (thus the cowardice)

I don’t think Trump diagnosed anything... he just said what some people want to hear and did not back down ( which I think is a good thing overall)

I started to vote Republican and to consider myself a conservative after Reagan’s first term

Reagan thought about the issues and knew what he believed. His conservatism developed over many years.

Trump shows no sign of ever having thought about stuff or of reaching his own conclusions.

He looks like an opportunist ...if he is not one, he sure has me fooled

Read his books. Watch his interviews. Do your homework.

But you believe everything he says. That’s called willful ignorance. You want to be deceived. Congrats, you have been led to water and refused to drink.

I accept what comes out of his own mouth. By the time those books came out Trump had changed parties multiple times and well established that he says what people want to hear. If there’s somebody here just accepting what’s on TV it’s you.

So you don’t think any thought went into Trump’s book, Time to get Tough?

That is a condescending, content-free post. It scores you nothing.

I already gave you the facts. You ignore them. And as for condescending and content-free, you started down that path when you started insisting I was claiming the powers of God. Out here in reality all I’ve done is pay attention and watch Trump spend 30 years following the winds and admitting to less than honest business practices. If you’d bothered to do that you’d know not to believe a word he says. You don’t need to powers of God when a guy outright tells you not believe him. If you’re going to believe anything Trump has ever said THAT should be the thing you believe. That’s the one I believe, which is why I know he’s lying now.

Many people were impressed with Obama’s books

As far as Im concerned that was his first major con job

I look at Obama and I do not see akan who will write another book (he might pay someone to write one)

I look at Donald Trump and I see the same things...
of course I could be wrong but that is how it appears to me

All you’ve given me is your opinion—and no reason whatsoever to believe yours is the right one.

It’s been established that Bill Ayers wrote Dreams from my Father. The writing in The Audacity of Hope is entirely different; a bit closer to Obama’s own style, but not so much so as to exclude the likelihood of a cowriter.

Trump has written many books. Has it been established that he relies on a ghostwriter?

Neither Obama nor Michelle have much of a grasp of more than rudimentary english. Imho, they were identified, chosen and groomed from back in the day to be tools of the left. Nothing much was ever demanded of them, except to not make too many obvious mistakes that might be an issue in a campaign. Because they never had to work for any of it, they are arrogant and contemptuous of this country.

I have no idea about his writing but I do know he is all over the map

The ideas expressed below are flat out pathetic

and to see people on FR embrace them makes me want to scream

from the LA Times (about the debates):

At the end of the Bush administration we “really started to see some of the negatives,” Trump said. “The last number of months of his brother’s administration were a catastrophe and unfortunately those few months gave us President Obama and you can’t be happy about that.”

Trump did not spell out why a catastrophe under a Republican administration would move him toward the Republican Party.

It’s especially perplexing given that Trump already noted that he always opposed the invasion of Iraq, the core of Republican foreign policy for years.
