Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t most or all of those “ record warmest” in the ocean , over volcanic hotspots or where currents circulate from volcanic hotspots or from Japanese radioactive pollution?

Off the Was/Oregon coast is where the new islands are actually being formed

Jeepers, you’d think I would have noticed that. Felt pretty average to me.

Didn’t NOAA just retract the hottest month ever?

I think NOAA discarded data points that I gathered here in NW Pennsylvania back in January and February.

"Outlier data points" of "questionable accuracy" ya know. These data don't support the narrative and must be tossed down the memory hole.

Whenever I read these “still heating up” headlines, I always say, “Don’t tell me. You’re talking surface temperature, right?”

Has anyone seen the stations they actually use? Some used to be in empty fields and now are in parking lots next to HVAC heat exchangers.

Give me a break.

In such pronouncements “official” and “true” are not synonymous.

Indeed. Those graphs should also be compared to the best datasets available, the satellite data. Here's the warmer of the two:

Note the peak in 1998 versus the present. Not even close. The hiatus since 1998 is also evident.

NOAA will eventually be featured as the poster child of "climate change" fraud.

What a joke. The temperature deviates all day long and is constantly on the move. The average is an average of an average of a MOVING average...incalculable.

We had a lot of “extra” rain up here in Upstate NY and everything is lush.

The good news is that The Weather Channel, mouthpiece for the Gorebots, is floundering and will be going on the auction block. When they gave up reporting the weather in favor of disseminating propaganda for the government, they killed their business.

Great point! (and one I've used often) Not even 100 years ago, we were still using mercury-filled thermometers with tiny lines painted/etched onto the sides to measure temps. How the heck can anybody approximate the temperature to such a precise degree just by eyeballing a smudge on glass?!

And as another poster mentioned, these recording stations that used to be in a grassy field are now surrounded by asphalt parking lots or factories, in lots of instances.

How should I take seriously someone who claims to be able to measure the average temperature of the Earth over extended periods to an accuracy of one one hundredth of one degree?

I don’t have the background to explain exactly how absurd this is but I wish someone who does would do so, please. I do know that it is ridiculous but there are others who are more qualified to illustrate the point. I figure it is as ridiculous as arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

“The NOAA is not a scientific organisation. They faked their data.”

There is no other choice but to fake when you have an agenda and no data! The claim is that they have determined the average temperature of the entire planet for the month of July 2015 and determined that it was “1.46” degrees higher than the average temperature for the ONE HUNDRED YEARS known as the twentieth century. That is an accuracy of one one hundredth of one percent. What really scares me is knowing the number of Americans who are unthinking enough to take such a number seriously. Where do people think they might have gotten information of that accuracy going back to the last day of the “Gay Nineties”?

Why don’t they just tell us the total number of white hairs on all of the calico cats that lived in the twentieth century? I, for one, would take it just as seriously as their temperature claims.

That is an accuracy of one one hundredth of one percent should have been one one hundredth of one DEGREE. I don’t know if you could even calculate a percentage but it is an absurd claim of accuracy.
