Hooray for Vin!
87 years old. God bless him.
God bless him!
I hope he does 75 years.
The best there is.
How does he stay awake after the 6th inning?
Wow. He’ll be 88. It is amazing he survived being married to Mommy Dearest.
An amazing career!
I remember, as a tyke, watchin Vin announce the BROOKLYN Dodge games on CH 9 in NYC circa mid-1950s.
Vin Scully has the best voice ever in baseball. No one can pronounce the Spanish player’s names better. Juan comes out like a whisper.
That said, the man is 87 years old and been on the job for 67 years. The Dodgers must have the worst retirement plan in the history of retirement plans.
He is on now broadcasting a game, Cubs/Dodgers on Dish, channel 478.
Old man river, he just keeps rolling along. God bless Vin.
Have watched several of Vin’s games this season. He hasn’t lost a step. Even more amazing, while most teams have two or more broadcasters in the booth, Vin does the play-by-play and color all by himself.
Truly the best. My grandfather was a die hard Dodger fan and he is the first radio voice I ever heard. Lived in LA for many years and always loved to listen to him through the static at the beach. Good memories.
As a former baseball radio guy myself, I love love love this news.
Vin Scully is the last of a bygone era. A master of his craft.
Oh, forgot to mention I thought his name was Vince Gully until one day my Aunt corrected me.
My mother is 82. Just drove out to Long Island from Staten Island for the weekend.
Dont know if she’s hitting the clubs or not :)
80 is the new 60. Or something.
My grandmother didn’t even leave the house practically after 70.
Very good news. “God willing,” Mr. Scully said 2s. I just heard the news on KNX 1070.
As long as Scully wants to work, all baseball fans are lucky. And I’m no Dodgers fan.
I so love that guy. He turned me on to baseball back in the days of Spahn, Maloney, Aaron, Mays, Moon, the Davises, Wills, Koufax, Drysdale, Podres, Howard, Ashburn, Robinson (Frank), Kluszeweski, Roseboro, Snider, Marichal, Musial, Gibson (Bob), Clemente, Burgess, Stuart, Mazeroski, Torre, Adcock, and a host of other first-rate, All-American ballplayers.
He was on 50,000 watt KFI and I could get him at night all the way over in Eastern Arizona, clear as you please.
My life has been very full of baseball ever since.
