Trump: The Art of the Bluff

by JOHN FUND September 11, 2015

“I don’t like to analyze myself because I might not like what I see.” — Donald Trump, in an interview for Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success, by business journalist Michael D’Antonio. “Trump was willing to say and do almost anything to satisfy his craving for attention. But he also possessed a sixth sense that kept him from going too far.” — D’Antonio’s conclusion to the book.

One often-underappreciated virtue of U.S. presidential campaigns is that their extreme length makes it very difficult to conceal what makes a candidate tick. (Barack Obama in 2008 was an exception, and he had help from an actively complicit media.) This reality is finally catching up to Donald Trump. As good as his “sixth sense” may be, Trump seems unlikely to avoid “going too far” in the long four-month stretch between now and the Iowa caucuses in February.

I want to believe that honestly, but statements such as I may sit down and discuss platform changes with GOP about adding life exceptions.

Just different statements from him that I am sure you must have heard, including his first statements about Kim Davis etc.

But I like what he is saying in general

Yeah, he does waffle on occasion. He really needs to settle down with his advisors and study the issues. He has everything it takes to win the White House - he just needs to solidify his core beliefs. Conservatives want him in the White House - as do many blacks, Union whites, Hispanics and women!

We will wait and see if Trump is a gladiator and can survive his Alamo stand. It’s really up to his supporters, isn’t it? I intend to stick.

Same here. I am sincerely convinced that he's the only chance we've got to save the republic.

What a world. Not even a year ago, I would have laughed in your face if you'd told me I'd be saying that today.

I didn't mean to trace them through their auto loans as they don't need to get auto loans, most of their employers help with that.

I meant to treat them like they are the autos themselves that non-illegals purchase or even lease but fail to make payments for.

There is paper work on them for how else do they get their kids in schools, get food stamps, section 8 housing chits, etc,?
