When I was 14, I built a clock. Rather than take apart a Radio Shack Micronta 63765A and repackage it into a pencil box, I ordered a digital clock component from Newark Electronics. This component had the basic clock function with the display. I needed to build the power supply, solder in the switches, alarm, etc. Then put it in a case, not a pencil case, but a box suitable to put next to my bed. I was not trying to invent a portable clock.....

Hey if you can become a hero by assaulting cops and being shot to death.
I guess causing a terrorism scare is the new excellence in school.
I can only hope a brilliant Muslim is rewarded for doing this on a jetliner next.
Let’s burn America to the ground.

I can’t remember building anything when I was 14 but maybe I did.
I do recall re-roofing the house along with my Brothers.

When I was 14, I got my first car, a ‘64 Ford Custom 500, canary yellow, with a 352, 4-barrel and duals. Made a lot of noise, but an ugly mutt. I had a Timex, and didn’t need to build one.

When I was fourteen, I built a rocket using a heat melted mixture of potassium nitrate and sugar for fuel. I found out the hard way that such a mixture is explosive under pressure, so you might say I made a bomb when I was fourteen.

When I was 14, I bought a KDX200 with money saved from working. I also got to home plate with an older chick, drank some beer, and started smoking. I was too busy for suitcase clocks.

A 34 Ford street rod, with 3 in a line chrome carburetor scoops, deep dish chrome rims, beautiful sapphire blue metalflake paint job with white metalflake flames. It was 12 inches long and plastic.
