Good, I’m just saying that there is a process, and the game will play out. Cruz has really held his hand close and will go up in the polls when a few more squishes drop out and then people meet that Cruz guy...the one that the media, for some reason calls a ‘firebrand’?... Trump knows.

I have to confess that I don’t know anything about Ted Cruz’s home life. It would be hard not to know about Trump’s home life, and while some aspects of that might be quite “saleable” to many voters, one also has to wonder how things would go with a president who would be downsizing to move into the White House. And while his lovely wife is obviously not an airhead along the lines of any given celebrity one could name and defame, she is also a singularity like Trump himself, somebody entirely unlike anyone who previously found themselves in the role.

So, while many might think that Trump is the natural winner, I have to wonder at what point the voters might start looking more seriously at these natural questions, how would a flamboyant celebrity couple adapt to the sober duties of leading the free world?

Would it be impertinent to ask whether these questions have really had the full airing that they need at this stage where candidates are selected rather than followed into the general election?

By way of complete contrast, I don’t even know if there is a Mrs Cruz or any children — that’s how recently I was impressed by the sheer political question that he seemed to answer with his impressive comments in debates and interviews.

Same goes for most of this crowd and, you really have to wonder, why do prominent politicians feel that it is so necessary to drag their spouses along to various political events? Those people are not going to be sitting in on important policy discussions (Hillary Clinton was obviously a known exception). I really don’t care whether the candidates’ spouses have separate lives that occupy them, or nothing better to do than trot along behind the candidate trying to remember never to frown or look depressed. If my wife ever ran for office, she would tell me to stay way out of sight!! I’m only a normal person.

Oh to live in a country like Poland where a normal person can become a political leader or a pope.
