McCain ran against Bush in 2008...and not against Obama...and lost. Mitt ran against Bush in 2012, not against Obama, and lost. Yesterday Trump started to run against W Bush with his 9-11 comments. He will lose too if he keeps that up.

I pretty much agree with the OP’s assessment of the Bush family, but if W Bush is seen as to blame for 9-11 and the economic crash, no Republican, ZIP ZERO NADA, will ever sit in the Oval again.

I think under any circumstance, Jebs campaign was always going to be about his brother. Sadly, I would not even support him. We did what we had to do because we believed it was the best choice at the time, but look what we got... On the whole, bush slowed down the decent but didn’t to anything to stop it.
