Cruz vs. Hillary on the issues, I think a majority of the people in at least 270 EV states are closer to Cruz

If issues decided the elections, we wouldn't be in this mess.

How would we even know, if we never try.

Not supporting a candidate who is best on the issues, 6 to 12 months before a primary, and 12 to 18 months before a general election, because we think "he can't win", is what's causing this mess.

It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Over-and-over again we don't support the person who is best on the issues in the primary, because the Big Government media paid for polls tell us not to.

I wrote this earlier but will re-post....

On Trump - my wife - and illegal immigration.

My wife like to shop after work at the local mall - wher ethe illegals gather to stand around - maybe for work pick ups and when no work to pass the time. When they are dropped off they get beers with the day's pay and are loud and active.

My wife gets terrified at the cat calls and leering looks she gets when she goes there. She tries to park away from them but so does everyone it seems so she has to sometimes park near to group. There were reports of rapes (real not imagined) by illegals in the area as well.

So when Trump said illegal Mexican rapists she jumped out of her chair like and said YES! so loud - I personally thought Trump was a joke at first (honest) and he was doing this for marketing reasons but I saw the look in my wife's face and said this is real and became a supporter.

Pundits overlook the slow drip negative effect toll that illegal immigration and their crimes have had on the normal people. They live as if oppressed and are afraid to voice these feelings. Trump speaks for them.

I disagree totally with his H1B stance...

And Trump wants to legalize foreign students after they graduation.

The net effect of Cruz's H1B increase and Trumps foreign student graduation legalization would be the same thing.

Cruz is the smartest person in every room he enters, and never fails to make sure everyone is aware of it.

And, he has shown enormous infidelity by voting for TPA and the Corker/Iran bill.

Followed by the sheer audacity to campaign on his opposition to the bills he voted for.

My grandma had a word for that...

Aside from his views on H1B visas, I agree, Cruz is a much better candidate than Carson. I’m afraid the people trying to get rid of Trump will succeed, and then we’ll get Carson, who’s #2 in the polls. I think, like you said, many people want Carson just to prove they’re not racist. Which means we might be about to make the same mistake we made with Obama—electing somebody because of his race.

So when Trump said illegal Mexican rapists she jumped out of her chair like and said YES!

We have 20 million or more illegals in the country. The rapists and the criminals are how many? Even if they were one million that would still leave 19 million.

And Trump's plan makes no mention of deporting the ~19 million goods ones.

And when Trump speaks and says that we will deport them all, he also then says that we will expedite the good ones back in for a legalization amnesty.

Because very, very few Americans even pay attention to politics, and even those that do somewhat, most have never heard of Free Republic (not that I haven't tried, LOL)

I agree with those on here that Cruz probably talks over the heads of most voters and his personality might be a put-off to some....and he is establishment to most, whether he really is or not.

I'm guessing. I don't think Carson has the experience. I don't think Cruz understands the economy. I'm a Trump fan. But here's my guess why Carson is liked...

Again, you are missing the point. Where we live we are lousy with this underclass of illegals. She works part time and the rest she stays at home. She is alone in a state she can't own a firearm in where who knows who is doing lawn work and construction. These illegals hang out at every corner - some menacing looking - some I am sure hardworking guys but still.

It is a fear she feels every day and can't do a thing about it. Trump made her feel relief someone noticed. I am putting these words in my wife's mouth - this is me perceiving her anxiety because I analyze stuff like this through my occupational lenses. So all this policy talk about Trump maybe doing a back door amnesty is meaningless to her. She hears deport, wall, rapists, strong America. Bang goes the dynamite.

Perhaps that's true as a generality.

I am a one issue voter, and my issue is that America is no longer great. I owe my vote to the candidate who recognized that and made it his signature issue.

No, not at all. I'm simply making the point that your wife is being mislead.

That’s not a reason. That’s your reason and that is fine. But I don’t think that can be transposed to the general voting base.

I agree with those on here that Cruz probably talks over the heads of most voters...

The public/socialist schools have indoctrinated three generations of voters so that only a small minority have read about the founders the framers and the historical liberty that they fought and died for. America looks at the elections as a beauty contest. "Candidate A - what would you do to feed all the starving children in Africa? " They look at the primary like it is an episode of American Idol. They do not connect the future of liberty to the candidate, and they do not care about the country that they pass to the next generation. They want someone to make them feel good; to have a charming personality and a love connection.

America is like a slut on Saturday night looking for the most alpha stud to give them the tingles and do the hookup. We get the leaders we deserve, because we get the leaders we choose. You ask why Carson over Cruz? Simple, for the same reason that faithful married men do not read on the radar screen of the loose woman wanting a good roll in the sack and because a serious responsible man is not all that interested in hooking-up with harlots.

More evidence of why women shouldn’t vote. It isn’t about substance for them. Sorry.

I was referring to a post by Trumpinator where he said his wife found Cruz “boring.” I think that not voting for a candidate because he/she’s “boring” is as LIV in approach as voting for someone based on sex or ethnicity.
