Being a placeholder would make sense to me but I see no evidence of that. What is yours? The other "outsider" is Fiorina, so why do you assume his support would go to Trump? I would dearly love if it did, but what makes you think that? I don't see it yet.

The people on the right want to WIN! Trump is a winner. When purity is not possible, winning is the next best thing (to any thinking person). I believe all conservatives are thinking people, and by any standard, Fiorina is neither ideologically pure, nor a winner. She couldn’t even beat Boxer; she got trounced by that lightweight.
