1. I find it incredibly easy and accurate to shoot.
2. While I haven’t shot a person with it, the size of the bullet makes me feel comfortable that if I hit someone, they will stay hit.
3. If you practice enough, the safety issue is not an issue.

Oh well. Its just an opinion.

I love my 45 cal 1911. It is what I shoot at the range. However, I find it too large to conceal. I have a single stack Kahr 9 mm for cc.

The 1911 was the first pistol I learned to shoot. The safety was just automatic and I really never noticed it being a problem. Safety was on and finger off the trigger until the pistol was brought to action.

I agree with your last point, a 1911 requires practice, but most people using a self defense weapon won’t practice, clean, and generally maintain it properly. Also it’s a little bulky for daily carry so I prefer a little LCR for light weight and concealment. The LCR isn’t accurate for squat but it’s for a foot or so away, so it doesn’t matter.

I had a Gold Cup and loved it, but gave it to my son. I’m a Glock 9mm guy now with a couple of models. Pull it out and pull the trigger, keep 10-11 rds in the mag and one in the pipe to save the springs.

Rule #1 It must be with you to help you.
Rule #2 Just pull the trigger.
