But the context is not the same.

We do not expect that the designer of a vehicle have any experience in operating the vehicle. And Carson is wrong: many of the creators of the Constitution (versus signers of the Declaration of Independence) had a great deal of experience through guiding the states via the Continental Congress for 15 years until the Articles of Confederation was signed (1781), thence until the Constitution was ratified (1790), some 24 years later.

And even then, the complexity of life was far less than now. Carson is not admitting of the facets of executing the laws which the President faces today. Even Obama, in his initial ignorance, knew more of politics and government than Carson.

There's something not quite right here about Carson's philosophy of prerequisites for conduct of the Presidency by traditional cooperation with legislators rather than by Executive Orders, if I may say.

Once again Carson exposes an ignorant and unconsidered point of view. I am just as concerned about his prior associations: Mannatech, Al Sharpton, Farrakhan via Armstrong Williams, a 7th Day Adventist, as I was about Barak Obama’s prior to his election.

His positions range from admirable to bizarre. The Egyptians built the pyramids to store grain(oops the pyramids have very little free space being mostly solid and the Egyptians left written records of the purpose of pyramid building), minimum wage is important and should be raised, electronic medical records from birth (big brother anyone?), his plan to substitute HSA’s with government contributions for medical insurance because everyone needs to have guaranteed medical care (collectivism alert). When the facts collide with his views he just doubles down.

This is a man who has opinions before and despite facts, a man who at times appears to have a hidden agenda. Ben Carson has very little experience with making deals and with the complexities of an international stage. His career as a surgeon has left him with a belief in his superiority which is untested outside the operating room. I believe he would be a disaster.

In the Washington Times, Carson wrote: “Once illegals have legal status, it will be difficult to deny them any of the multitudinous entitlements that are freely distributed throughout our society.” Carson believes that illegal immigrants should be able to register as guest workers and have a pathway to apply for permanent resident status.
