I recall reading that Grover Cleveland vetoed a bill to give veteran's benefits to a man who had been injured while on his way to sign up to serve in the Union army during the Civil War, and so had never actually served.
What about Hillary Clinton? Does she qualify as a veteran for attempting to join the Marine Corps?
