I sincerely hope you never find out. But just for a bit of an education, why don't you show your posting to any good criminal defense attorney and ask him or her if it would help or hinder your defense if you happened to be charged with say, murder, for the use of that firearm in self defense.
And then report back to us on what they say.
I don’t believe the time is now right, if ever, to openly declare ourselves as rebels. Our corrupt government would, in my humble opinion, move against us at the federal, the state and possibly the local levels.
Short of a nebulous tipping point — where “protest” becomes “groundswell” — then the modern Redcoats could move to silence us. One or two would be “lone gunmen” and hassled mercilessly. (Permits yanked, intense enforcement of every minor rule and regulation, adverse publicity, etc.) Six or more would be a “militia” and the headlines would be bigger and uglier, with the words “insurrection” and “rebellion” thrown around.
On the other hand, maybe your idea would be beneficial. Maybe more closet patriots would wake up and speak out. Maybe the Redcoats would realize that we are frighteningly serious and that they had better listen. We can’t foresee the dynamics involved.
My point is that the nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered down. I’m not sure I’m ready for that.
