We’ve gotten to the point where people believe they have a right to not be offended. I liked the world better when “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” was the order of the day.
I grew up in the 30s and 40s.
Everyone harassed and insulted everyone. (No vulgar language,though).
When we’d tell our parents we’d be told,”Oh,just ignore it”.That was that.
