Three in their 20s. All self sufficient and fully employed. One a Marine. No problem.
I’ve hired several post millennial Americans (those currently in college or recently graduated) and they’ve generally been decent employees. I do live in a part of the country where Americans do the work Americans are no longer doing though. Also, as part of the interview I walk them out to their car at the end to surreptitiously take notice of their bumper stickers.
Yes!
Believes in God.
Has read the Declaration of Independence.
Has read the Bill of Rights.
Knows Gun Safety.
Still uses the Men’s Room.
Weird!
My late Aunt babysat all the guys in Slipknot when they were toddlers.
Look in the toy stores. Everything is female-dominated and PINK. Building toys and science toys ALL feature girls on the packages. Little boys’ aisle? Monsters and trucks.
“delicate flowers” = blooming idiots
My goodness, they are as busy as a couple of termites in a lumberyard. That is meant as a supreme compliment. Too many millenials are simply lazy, waiting for taxpayer-funded handouts rather than doing for themselves.
Please tell me not the daughter that sang the natl anthem at the march for Justice?
I'll lay odds that there aren't too many FReeper kids who would. Surely there are exceptions - but FReepers parent our kids. ;-)
And as for "Safe Spaces", a few nights ago, WBill Jr. was practicing his karate. He said, "This room is now a Safe Space! Hiii-Ya!".
I believe him, the self defense that he's learning works. I've got the bruises to prove it. :-)
“And they’re the only generation that does.”
No, but they are the generation that supports it in the greatest numbers, there is no doubt about that.
Probably. They’re home schooled.
I feel so fortunate. My oldest just sent me a photo of a 4 year old she nannies. She combed his hair to look like Trump.
Her Mom was the only person that I've eaten with, who could make tofu taste good. After cooking with it for so long, I guess she'd finally figured it out.
Plain boiled squash and mashed turnips, though? I'll pass.

_____________
is that why she is a late aunt?
I went to a large State U, up north, and got a BS in Engineering. Still get stuff in the mail from them, from time to time.
Anyhoo, if you were to read the literature and not know a thing about it, you'd think that the Engineering School was populated solely by young, attractive females along with a much smaller number of properly diverse, athletic, and grinning males.
Truly, the opposite is the case. Mostly, it's pasty white nerds with thick glasses - both male and female. More women than when I was there, but it's still about 9-1. We didn't get out much, especially during Freshman weedout courses (shudder), and junior year in general (I've still no idea how I passed a couple of classes).
So much for truth in advertising. :-)
Hmmm. Good idea, can I steal it?
Usually, for senior-level positions, I make it a point to take the candidate out to lunch - can tell a lot about a person from that.
Your idea would work well, especially for entry-level candidates. I talk to a lot more of those.....
I fear that for my oldest, too (age 29). She hasn’t given any hint so far which is fine by me.
I still remember the day in 2007 when she called me positively gushing about how this guy Obama had just spoken at her university and how he was “going to change the country!” Of course, when I asked her what was wrong with the country that needed changing she hadn’t a clue.
Simply rectified by realizing that skin color doesn’t matter and if one person of one skin color can do it then the person of another color with the same talent can do it, too. Not too hard.
“victim card + race card + self pity card = excuse for being a loser”
If you add the gender card does that make a full house?
They've had everything handed so them so they value nothing.
During my time as a homeless vet in Ohio, the other vets at the VA dom would loudly remark about how every vet should support Obama because "all good things come from him".
They followed the party voices from the MSM (CNN was constantly piped into every office), and lived not only on bread alone, but every word from the mouth of Our Lord And Savior, The Obama, The Messiah, The Won.
And these were Vietnam-era vets, even older than me. Those people were set concrete in their ways. Not a single thing you tell a Millenial will ever change them.
