This is what happens when people stand with their feet facing the center of the earth on one side and people on the opposite side of the earth are laying flat sleeping at the same time.

A polemic unsupported by even a cursory review of evidence of the huge variety of “climates” over the past 300 million years. Plate Tectonics have been the major determinant of climate. The positioning of land masses and collisions between them have determined currents, rain patterns, and the carbon cycle.

Remember when Science used to have falsifiability as their cornerstone?

Yeah, those days are long gone.

6000 years ago is 1,500 years before the Great Pyramids were built. Hard to believe man could have much of an impact that far back.

If you read the article, it is a classic example of specious causality. This “random pair” shift occurred about 6,000 years ago. Incidentally, that’s about the time sedentary agriculture began to emerge and human communities began to form. So of course, the latter MUST be the cause of the former.

“...Co-occurrences of most taxon pairs...”

Too racy for me. I mean, I’ve seen pairs, nice ones. But never more than a nice pair at a time.

These Climate Change fools believe in “Evolution” as much as they do in “Climate Change”. Yet when Nature evolves Homo Sapiens the first they they do is WHINE about what Homo Sapiens is doing.

We had tooth and claw evolution for land animals for over 300 million years and would have more of the same had Humans not evolved a big enough brain and the limbs to manipulate their own living environment.

But the Climate Change crowd betrays their OWN philosophy and apparently rails AGAINST the evolution they hold as a high sacrement!

I have a degree in Anthropology/Archaeology with a Minor in Geology, plus graduate studies in Anthropology, and, to quote the actor Sal Bisiglio, the Indian Chief in “THe Frisco Kid”, when reading a Torah Rabbi (Gene Wilder) was carrying, “I’ve read the whole thing and didn’t understand a single word of it”.

Now you know why I quit wanting to be an Anthropologist. Half of them are crazy and the other half are questionable.

Since the Big Ice Age ended about 11-12,000 years ago, it is logical that animal and plant life would change with the retreating of the ice, more green plants able to grow (i.e. food for herbivores), and more animals for humans to hunt for food (There were no McDonald’s around yet. I can just image some Mastodon hunter asking his fellow hunters, after cooking a kill, “You want fries with that?”).

Just like shit, “CHANGE HAPPENS”. Man has had an effect on the land/waters but just how much is debatable and should be subject to a scientifically honest study effort, not PC environBabble and “modeling” as the truth.

The only “modeling” I liked was putting together Marx, Revell and Aurora air planes, ships, and tanks. I never sniffed the glue but some of these scientists today seem to be doing it by the bucket.

I love science and teach my granddaughter how to find minerals, fossils, unusual rocks, as well as how to recognize plants and trees, etc. You get the idea. We buy a lot of “Guides” to plants/flowers, animals, trees, butterflies and birds so that she can learn about them long before seeing them.

Our background is a mini-nature preserve and learning center. No “modeling”, no “speculation”, no guestimation. Just empirical observations over time, with photos.

We have had “Voodoo Economics” and now we have “Voodoo Science”, to the detriment of society and education.

A good scientist and teacher is worth their weight in gold, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have had many of them. I pity the kids today who get Grant-Chasers and Science Speculators rather than the old-time scientists who followed Kameney’s 10 steps to empirical science, from Hypothesis to Experimentation to Final Analysis and Conclusions.

PS: Not all the scientists listed in the credits for this study are frauds or incompetent. I suspect that many are honest people who work hard, but if they have allowed themselves to be coopted by the leftist “Climate Change Uber Alles” school, then “Science, we have a problem.”

Junk science mag, badly written, fits nicely in the waste basket - I don’t have a fireplace so I can’t speak to its fire starting abilities.

If it is from DC, it has an agenda ...
