Obama’s not going to be in DC during November and December of this year. He’ll be in the southern hemisphere. And he told us in July of 2008 that he would be POTUS for 8-10 years.

If ISIS had nukes they would have used them by now. It’s not the most patient of organizations.

And my point was to keep the questioners expectation low. False hopes and statistics from primitive nuke use may be very misleading for today's nukes. You wanna tell him that there is nothing to worry about - all your family and property will be just fine - go back to sleep?

I'm a big believer in facts and data. If you look at the yields from the first nuclear tests in all new nuclear powers, including NK's test of a so-called hydrogen bomb a few weeks ago, they tend to be comparable to or less than Hiroshima/Nagasaki. Unless ISIS/Daesh/AlQaeda/Obama'sMinions get a nuke from a power that has conducted multiple tests, we know how well new designs based on theory work. My point is not that a nuclear attack would be no big deal but that survival is perhaps a 50-50 chance and perhaps better.

There would be hundreds of thousands and possibly millions dead (NYC), many burned and wounded, and many at least temporarily deafened. Every family within miles would be affected, as would all public services and all jobs in the area. But my family and his would (mostly?) survive, and many (most?) of my friends and his would survive. I don't like unrealistically low or high expectations; I like realism.

The voters of 2008 and 2012 chose . . . poorly.

Tell all that to this guy whose worried about his family, himself, and his property : butterdezillion

I’m sure he will be comforted by your data, facts and realism ...

It was a coup. What most of the voters had access to was sheer propaganda, because even the “conservative” media had been threatened. And even at that the thuggery to get Obama over Hillary was intense. The coup of 2008 is a story that needs telling.

But in any case, the net effect of 2008 and 2012 was disaster. I’m skeptical that the USA will come out of it with her life.

I’m trying to figure out what is the most likely way that Obama would have his communist-Islamist allies keep him in office for the possible extra 2 years of what he said would be an 8-10-year Presidency. Despite Obama’s best efforts, American citizens are still armed so they would need to use attacks strategically, lest patriots defend the rest of the country while a single square mile of some big city is blown apart. My purpose in thinking it through is so I know how to prepare for my family, and so I know how to try to urge the powers-that-be to FIGHT in a way that could avert these attacks.

I’ve struggled with comfort v realism, and I’ve decided in my mind that each family needs one realist to protect that family and to try to force the government to do their job of protecting us all. Everybody else can live comfortably, and hopefully the bad thing will never have to happen and they will never have lost an hour of sleep over it; their family protector will be the only one losing sleep.

The flaw in that plan, however, is that the government only does its job when large numbers of people are breathing down their necks. I don’t think there are enough people willing to know the truth, for that to ever happen - unless somebody like Trump raises the national consciousness. But that involves forcing more people to see the danger we’re in which is not comfortable at all.

Then there are the riots, food shortages, criminal gangs robbing at will. Who knows if the central and state governments would even hold - they could crumble or worse be ineffectual. Everything works on a JIT system and that system would remain broken for a long time. Power would be something you make yourself.

A few guns ammo and stored rations will only last and work so long - what happens after that stuff runs out?

Do you know how to hunt, trap, build shelters from scratch using hand tools, build a boat, make weapons, find water, grow gardens using non-gmo seeds, know which native plants can be eaten and when and which have medicinal properties and those preparations and uses?

The list goes on. If you have never done any of those things books can help you learn, but only experience works.

I’m aware of the needs and have experience on some of it. I’m working on the other things. A person does what she can.

Are you saying the one person/family would not be able to fully prepare?

If so, then the only way a family would survive is by them all being aware of the danger, even if it’s not comfortable. So the question for families is if they would rather die of rioting, starvation, dehydration, etc after living comfortably with no fears, or if they would rather be uncomfortable and sometimes feel hopeless but be prepared if TSHTF. That’s probably the choice that people face.

I’d bet you a lot of money (if I had any. lol) that most people are not willing to do the latter. They would rather take their chances when TSHTF than to have to trouble themselves at knowing the danger before it’s too late.

BTW, the scenario you present - especially considering that sleeper cells are positioned all over the country to take the government for Islam if the chance arises - is precisely what I suspect Obama is planning on in November or December when he’s out of the country. There’s no way a President-elect could be inaugurated in those circumstances, and especially if the sleeper cells take over the state governments and/or DC (though with Obama in power of DC via phone communications to the White House bunker who needs sleeper cells in DC?) It would possibly take some time for the federal government to be totally disbanded even after the state governments fell to Islam and were claimed for the caliphate, and that may be why Obama said he would be POTUS for “the next 8 to 10 years”.

The scenario in which he would be POTUS for 10 years is if something happened at the end of his 2nd term that kept a new POTUS from being inaugurated - something so dire that it was simply not possible for that to happen. And now we’re on the verge of that time period and behold, all is ready...
