And as a constitutionlist, what is a stand alone president going to do from the executive office?
You think making him the president gives him the power to change immigration policy? How? By executive order?
He cannot work alone. Nor does he have the power delegated by the Constitution to do so
He needs to work with the House and Senate whether he is a president or a senator. In other words “Lets make a deal”
How do you think that’s gonna work with a conservative who is considered unlikeable and inflexible - by his OWN PARTY? And if he gets “flexible” is he still your unswerving conservative?
Thus far he has never demonstrated the ability to accomplish anything by teamwork, executive direction or force of personality.
But - this is all moot. Cruz as head of the GOP ticket is unelectable.
He talks about a wall when he’s trying to get elected. Once in office, soccer balls and teddy bears.
Or so it would appear.
But this specific attack - assuming that because a first term-Senator couldn't accomplish much that he couldn't accomplish much as President - is bogus. The position itself has inherently limited power.
It is the equivalent of criticizing a Lt. Col. for putting the understrength 31 RCT in an exposed, outnumbered position on the east side of the Chosin Reservoir.
Just because LCol. Faith couldn't do much with his limited authority doesn't mean he couldn't have done a better job than Gens. Almond and MacArthur.
