Rush today saying Trump had gone after a “revered” figure in the GOP.
I liked W. I thought the concept of princering Iran was good. The execution obviously was flawed, particularly the wimpiness toward Muslims andd the political correctness.
But “revered??” W was “revered so the next two Republican GOP candidates ran awY from him and Dems are STILL running against him? Does Rush not realize that a large number of GOP/conservatives date our decline from Rove’s disastrous 2006 electoral strategy? Or that millions of people got soaked by the crash and thought the bank bailout was a sop to the rich?
No, by going after Bush this isn’t even right/left. This is an exorcism of what many, many have wanted over the last 8-10 years. Bush was in the high 20s when he left office. That isn’t “revered.”
Were it not for 9-11, it is not a stretch to say that GWBush would have been a one termer... just like his argyle sock daddy, WWII service aside and all that. The Bush’s are all the way back to Brown Harriman investment bank, establishment. Which is why Barbara still calls Billy bob Clintoon... just like one of her sons. The “other” acceptable “semi-catholic” liberal wing of the “establishment” who .. “went to good schools”. Lord, spare us any more dynasties. We CAN rule ourselves without these people.

The "GOP Establishment" IS the Bush family. The whole organization reflects the Bush outlook and Bush sensibilities, having purged the Reaganites. THE GOPE IS STAFFED ENTIRELY BY BUSH HIRES.
Everything we hate about the GOPe is a result of the Bush-Reagan split, in which the Bush family was left standing. There was a divorce, and the Bushes got the Party.
Explains everything: GOP weakness, patrician global mindset, underhanded "operative" hack dealings, lust for compromise. The GOPe is hated for a reason - it has done everything it can to torpedo the old American strengths.
Here's the thing. Trump has analyzed the source of the problem, and is directly attacking it, in his way. He is going after the king. And when you hit the king, you have to ... succeed.
W is, this week, coming to Trump's ground to meeting him in battle. This is a high stakes showdown, happening in full view. Outcome unknown.
