Pro-Cruz super PAC uses Confederate flag against Trump
Politico ^ | 02/19/16 | Katie Glueck

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C.-- A super PAC backing Ted Cruz is running robocalls and radio ads that remind voters Donald Trump supported removing the Confederate flag from South Carolina statehouse grounds. "Trump talks about our flag like it's a social disease," intones the spot, which is playing on about 30 radio stations in South Carolina, as well as a few in neighboring states. It includes clips of Trump saying, "Put it in the museum, let it go." "That's Donald Trump supporting Nikki Haley removing the battle flag from the Confederate memorial in Columbia," says the spot, which is paid for by Courageous Conservatives PAC and is part of a $25,000 ad buy. Rick Shaftan, a spokesman for the PAC, said that since "Donald Trump supporters are the most opposed to political correctness," it was a relevant point to make in the hours before the South Carolina primary, where most polls show Trump holding a substantial lead over Cruz. The Cruz campaign has disavowed the spot. "This is from someone not affiliated in any way with our campaign, and it is not something we condone," tweeted Brian Phillips, Cruz's rapid response director. Cruz last summer said he would leave the issue of whether the flag should come down -- which it eventually did in the wake of a shooting at an African American church -- to the people of South Carolina. But the Texas senator ignored reporters who on Friday asked whether he supported that outcome. "His position is the same, this was a decision for state leaders to make," Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said. State Sen. Lee Bright and state Rep. Bill Chumley, who were announced last spring as two of Cruz's state chairs here, were vocal opponents of bringing the flag down. "People like Donald Trump are always butting their noses into other people's business," the ad says, going on to add, "On Saturday, send Donald Trump and his New York values back to Manhattan. Ted Cruz for president. Let's take our country back. Now. Before it's too late."

You also did not read the article, what is with the Trump supporters? To much rush to shoot off their mouths against others, no time to actually read the articles.

Cruz’s stand was, and is, leave to the state to decide.

” “This is from someone not affiliated in any way with our campaign, and it is not something we condone,” tweeted Brian Phillips, Cruz’s rapid response director”

From the article. This is all I needed to know. Have your Super PAC make the attack for you and then deny you had any involvement in it. Classic Dirty Trick!

Also- “Rapid Response Diretor” You know who has those? Politicians! You know who doesn’t? Donald Trump!

Ted Cruz is a POLITICIAN! That’s all I need to know!

Trumpets are feverously busy at breakneck speed trying to defend his liberal positions.

It's almost gotten funny.

In the last 10 elections there were no conservative candidates, kinda throws off your logic. It is amazing That America is still functioning as the V10 engine is only firing on one engine. Decades of liberal social engineering brought corruption and poverty, it’s time to let the adults repair the damage.

And yet, all the revered polls that show Donald trump kicking Cruz’s butt in the primary, also show Cruz doing better that Trump against either Clinton or Sanders, also show that in a matchup between Trump and Cruz, Trump loses.

So: If Cruz doesn’t stand a chance in the general, and Trump stands even less chance, who should we all switch to, Jeb, Marco, Carson, Kasich, or pull someone back from the dropouts?

The answer is in the article.Cruz supports States Rights, and he declined to put forth his opinion as it is not his place to choose. He did however disavow the third party ad.

They don’t bother to read them, they already know everything.

Right now they are too busy trying to defend Trump's many liberal positions. That is tough job to do right now.

Ted Cruz did not put out this ad, but Trumpeteers are up to their old tricks of laying slander on an innocent man.

Evil lot...

They are starting to go beyond defending his liberal position to actually claiming his liberal positions are the solution to the problems.

And you don’t know why the poster is in Israel, so you have no standing to question whether he cares about America. But, I know how that “Kill the Trump Haters” reflex kicks in.

Ted Cruz: Outsiders should not dictate Confederate flag debate for South Carolina...

So again all your accusations are baseless, just like Trump.

Ted Cruz is a POLITICIAN! That’s all I need to know!

You could perhaps attempt knowing the truth for a change. It does take a bit more mental effort though.

Speaking of dirty tricks. Do you not you know the differemce between material disttributed by the candidate and a PAC ? I think you do .

Furst of all; PACs promote positions directed to a candidate who may not even agree with what it may be and has no imput as to approval or content.

Secondly, how is this a so called dirty trick ? Unless they are sending this out and directed to black communities to inflame them .

Or can it be you as well as a certain candidate who openly supports hiding behind the curtain of politcal correctness dumping the CBF as well as other monuments to confederacy.
