Sadly, if Trump if elected, if he does much more than sneeze, these traitors will start the drumbeat of impeachment.

Many forces sympathetic to the continued demise of the territory once known as “the United States of America” are having nightmares and feeling pretty edgy the next day, and nothing the that day’s news would assuage their fears in the least.

I rather like the idea that many of the heads of state in various Middle Eastern countries are having moments, no, hours and days of unrest.

n FREE trade, everything is more efficient and prices go down, productivity goes up and with productivity, the standard of living.

I don't agree at all. The de industrialization of the USA is hurting national secueity and rendering a large portion of the population unemployable and ripe for socialism. Free Trade is ruining the USA.

Actually, if productivity is turned loose on the American industrial base, we may very well be able to buy higher quality American made goods for LESS than the cheap products now pouring forth from Chinese factory towns, where quantity is much more important than quality. The relatively short lifetimes of the cheaply made goods is more cost per hour of operation than quality goods made right the first time, but which can last for years. Add to that the capability of simple and reliable access to maintaining the operation of those goods, and the favorability of the US-made product begins to far outweigh the temporary advantage of “cheap”.

Many of the products now made by complicated processes could be constructed on a “3D” printer for much less than the current fabrication costs.

Work smarter, not harder.

”… inflammatory and insulting public statements by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump ..."

I cannot speak on behalf of foreign diplomats, but I think that they’re complaining about Trump because the party will be over.

I share your views on how the world leaders view Cruz, there is no fear, none.

I’m sure if Cruz was the front runner, the news would be the same.

Not a chance. Cruz would be destroyed by the media. He can't even defend himself against Trump's silly attacks.

Nothing that Cruz says or does "sets the agenda."

Trump has been driving the narrative since he announced.

Nobody would be talking about immigration or how America has been screwed by these terrible global trade deals if Trump had not talked about it.

Cruz would be giving silly sermons on the Constitution and defending himself against charges of racism by the media.

Trump understands how to negotiate deals. He is negotiating with these countries right now, setting his initial positions. When he says he will build a 30 foot wall, gets elected and then Mexico talks it down to a 20 foot wall, Mexico will feel like they won. But there will still be a wall. Compare that with Obama and Kerry giving Iran everything they wanted as a starting position and continually caving so that they could say they got something accomplished.

Trump has his flaws, but he builds giant projects in foreign cities around the world successfully. His negotiating skills are not one of his flaws.

Your view is academically correct but it is missing a dimension of reality.

In another context, why do you think electronic connectors are often made to connect in only one way? Answer: guard against human error.

In the context of trade deals, the notion of ‘Free Trade’ has no design to guard against subversion. There is no design principle that will keep a system of Free Trade in balance.

How would one design a free trade policy to limit human malfeasance?

I am not sure there is a solution because it is in practice unachievable. Hence, recognizing ‘Free Trade’ is but a theory to be admired but is of little practical use.

Trump’s trade is ‘Smart Trade’ in lieu of ‘Dumb Trade’.

As historians assess the era of free trade experimentation, I believe they will summarize that the effect was to shift labor costs to where they were minimal causing previous host countries to degenerate in both industrial capacity and ability; law of unintended consequences at work.

The USA and GB will go down in history as the only two countries to purposely and deliberately de industrialize. It takes a special kind of corruption to pull that off.

It is up to the baby boom generation to stop gloBULLism and Free Trade because we are the only ones to remember real prosperity.

You are mistaken in thinking we have FREE trade. We dont. We have managed trade. Trade Deals such as TPP, NAFTA are managed trade, not FREE trade.

In reality, we live in a mixed economy. Just as it is only partially capitalist and partially socialist and partially corporatist, so it is partially FREE trade, which is capitalist, and it is partially MANAGED trade, which is Corporatist and the arch enemy of capitalism...eg the enemy of Adam Smith, of Bastiat, of Hayek, etal.
