I know an author who can’t get published at American Thinker these days because they are pro-Trump or anti-establishment pieces.

The culprit promoting violence is the media. Nothing Trump has said comes close to the vitriol these people are spewing on Trump.

But alas, AT has gone to the dark side.

Yep. Not to say that I approve of Trump's rhetoric, because I don't, and I frankly think Trump shares some responsibility for some of his followers punching people. (I'm also wondering if he'll actually pay their fines.)

But when it comes to the violence in Chicago, how is it any different from eighty gazillion acts by some of the same people or groups since Ferguson? It's not. That violence was encouraged by the media, and so long as the media encourages those groups to violence, there's going to be violence. Trump is just the current target/excuse, but he is in no way the creator or cause.

Trump has, to date, only tried to defend his own right to free space -- he isn't going out and trying to interfere with other people's right to gather or speak, and (to my knowledge) he isn't encouraging his followers to do so, either. So even though I don't approve of some of the things Trump has said, he is way, way short of the abuse the media has actively encouraged and endorsed.
