One of the more curious things I've watched in this election cycle is supposed conservatives making a boogeyman out of Ted Cruz. Of course, they've only done this once he became a threat to Trump.
And now they breathlessly await the next tweet from Trump to give them their marching orders. "What adjective shall we ascribe to our political opponent next in our never ending quest for Making America Great Again?"
If you like Trump as a candidate, great. Rest comfortably in that opinion. There's no need to try and make yourself feel better about that decision by dragging down an ideologically similar candidate on personal grounds. Of course, this won't be done. Because the committed conservative knows that Trump isn't conservative and struggles through the cognitive dissonance by casting aspersions on someone with whom they largely agree.
The very same Ted Cruz that was a hero here for years.
Amazing once Trump turns on someone his mob follows his lead and does the same. For Trumpsters, virtually nothing can or will dissuade them. Many of the things Trump has said would cause outrage if Obama said them, but Trumpsters will forgive their guy anything and everything.
If you expect supporters of EITHER candidate to simply stand by and witness attacks on their candidate, you are on the wrong forum.
