My analysis says your assumptions are way off. Trump goes to the convention with no more than 1100 delegates, maybe less than 1000. Cruz ends up with over 1000, maybe more than 1100. In short, Trump and Cruz wind up with very comparable pledged delegate counts, but unlikely for either to be over 1237.

This is where Cruz ACTUAL (as opposed to pledged) delegates come into play, once they have fulfilled their obligation to vote for Trump on the first ballot.

Nobody will be stealing the election. You may want to call it that, but everyone would see such a claim as just what it is: the sour grapes of a sore loser.

Remember this: The hallmark of a real loser is the habitual blaming of others for his own failures. Remind you of anyone?

Your candidate is trailing badly, and is not likely to win many more states. He has virtually no chance of overtaking the leader. He’s hoping for a hail Mary at the convention. So far, he has been the loser. Time will tell if he makes that status more permanent.

Kasich and Rubio have between them about 300+ delegates. Excepting a party destroying brokering, neither will be on the front end of the ticket. Until the second round, their preference will not be considered. If no one gets a real majority, then we do not know who is the preference of the majority. Having so many candidates early on really messed up the ability to see the rank and file republican voters’ preference.

Trump is a billionaire, but Cruz is out maneuvering him in the case of contested convention. Crying about it is the mark of someone not ready for the leader of free world, as these are relatively simple exercises in the political world. Cruz can deal with them, and get results even if “everyone hates him”. Trump will go on television and whine about not winning by just talking about his desire. His way of dealing with failure is to re-frame the discussion on how he really “won”. And the one that got away was 6 foot long. It would have been the tastiest fish ever, and would have gutted itself so fast it could still jump onto the grill...if you would have just put your rent money on red 12...

Trump’s technique of demonizing his opponents is juvenile, untrue, unwarranted and bully like, obviously false, silly and may get him some places...but I would not trust him in any deal. He’s a liar. And there are a lot of FREEPERS emulating these techniques here.

It is not a long term strategy, and may be a short term skill with limited utility.
