‘No study necessary - I knew that all along. If youre a copy editor working with a document going into print, thats one thing - but if youre a poster correcting other peoples posts (of course, ignoring what they are saying), you need to get a life.’

Grammar mistakes are one thing but lazy so called journalists who don’t proof read and rely on autocomletion are something entirely.

I hate it when people say as well instead of too or also or and. Context, context, context!
If you had used "too" in a previous sentence, style and common sense dictates you find a synonym in the next sentence.

To: Morgana
So-called scientists who engage in worthless studies that reflect nothing more than opinion are largely parasitic a$$holes who need to get real jobs.
Why is accuracy in science such an imperative, while accuracy in language is the domain of "jerks?"
To: Morgana
The differences picked up in the research were pretty subtle - and it's a small sample size in general, so we need to take the results with a grain of salt...Can you say "not statistically significant?" I knew you could.

I thought Steve martin was the Jerk.He was THE Jerk. Al is just "a" jerk. Not the same ranking at all.
To: Windflier
Unless and until Windflier weighs in, the thread is pretty much pointless.

It's those nameless sacred "scientists" again, always quoted, never named.
I read their stupid report.
An average of 7.2 grammatical or spelling errors per paragraph.
Of course they would conclude that...

I doubt that there are few posts I have made that could not have been better articulated. If I spend much time editing I generally wind up deleting. Spelling errors creep in and are of no interest to others but can be embarrassing to the poster. Misuse of such as 'there' and 'their' and the like also can be unsettling but posts are not manuscripts. I will spellcheck this post to be on the safe side.

"I thought that Werner Von Braun was pretty cool, once you got past that little London thing." You are certainly correct. (And, like the old saying goes, this discussion ain't rocket science...oh, wait a minute, yes it is!)
It seems that WVB's ultimate fate could have gone either way, based on where the "V" was. The Saturn "V" rockets rose to the heavens, but the "V-2" rockets could have sent him to a very warm place, where "global warming" will seem like a picnic! :-)

The second example violates the rules of parallelism.

Improper use of colon, incorrect use of comma, violation of rules of parallelism and improper use of conjunction to begin a sentence

“Hitler” should be capitalized because it’s a proper name. And you left the period off at the end of the sentence.
