And yet... and yet.

If we had the nicest country in the world but it was content with merely being nice, we might be a bust, eternally speaking.

"When does the system officially break? Or has it already broken and we’re just living on borrowed time?"

The latter. It's already broken, when nearly all of the influence in politics comes from competing socialist interests (e.g., HUD landlords complaining about HUD residents).

Here's the influence in both political parties.

OpenSecrets.org
American Fedn of St/Cnty/Munic Employees [State/County/Municipal Employees]
[Total Contributions:] $94,708,977
[To Dems & liberals:] $93,739,954
[To Repubs & Conservs:] $671,755
[Pct to Dems & liberals:] 99%
[Pct to Repubs & Conservs:] 1%

Leviathan (Uncle Sam employs more people than you think)

"...nearly 40 million Americans employed in some way by government."

...and pensioners from the same.

The anti-conservative influence came mostly from large numbers of folks from Europe over the past hundred years or so—folks bringing a corrupt culture and religion that is antithetical to the morals from early America.

There will be a civil war.

Depends. Depends on how many people are willing to forgo their, currently, comfortable existence and fight.

I don't know.

If we ever get back to freedom and liberty, it will take about half a dozen generations. Hopefully someone in that distant future will be able to uncover the founding father’s original documents.

A victory would require shifting to a spiritual point of view. One that sees the need of embracing salvation, in fact a Savior, in fact the Savior.

Or it could take a blaze of evangelistic fervor that could ignite in a day. God is odd about that.

We let this happen to ourselves.

I've taken considerable heat on this forum when I point that out. It is dead true, just the same. I really worry that only a pitiful few would place themselves at risk once the ballot box utterly fails. We are on the cusp of that woeful event.

Wow. Thank you for this. So how close are we to being a socialist state? I’d say we’re almost there given that the CBO predicts that by 2040, social security and health care will rise to 14.4% of GDP, and interest payments will soar to 9.3%.

Think about this, in order for us to pay for this with higher taxes would require all tax rates to rise by 70%. Meaning, the top tax rate would go from 39.6% to 67%. The 28% bracket (where many middle class Americans find themselves) would rise to 47.6%. Furthermore, the social security payroll tax would to go to 26% and the corporate tax rate to 59%.

Well, ever optimistic, even over-optimistic, that I do hope. Gospel is the most wonderful news that ever came to humanity, but it has to be believed to do good. It puts paid to all manner of accusatory distortions that are talked about God, like He is quintessentially punitive minded, or He does not care. Accusations that are quite true of humanity as a whole, however.

Believing the gospel is to throw away the whitewash and allow God to build something new on freely confessed ruins. With more than half of humanity talking like it is to personally succeed in looking good (to whom?), we have a quintessential confusion.

dear short,

While I, and many others, were doing as you described, it was the individual State’s educational system screwed with and morphed into a federal one by Carter, where now, the federal government decreed what was to be taught/indoctrinated.

It is the educational system, who gathered and protected so many pointed head liberals, who had their dream of Communist Utopia to draw on a blank page, since ‘we could do it better, here, this time’. These were ‘those in the know, and who were ‘we’ to question what they knew or thought’.

In a nutshell, after that, ‘they’ just didn’t give a rodent’s tukus!!

This indifference in America to cultural issues and government lawlessness that we believe are seemingly unimportant and non-connected is akin to the appalling fascination of watching a man being hanged with the slowly dawning realization that it is a reflection of ourselves in a mirror.

Wow, beautiful imagery. Problem is that so few people actually recognize the mirror.

Easy - in not recognizing the difference between corporations and human beings.

Corporations have no rights, only government granted privileges. Apply that to human beings, and the original America dies.

And when did this transpire?

Within less than 100 years, probably much less, there will either be a reformed islam without all the killy enslavey stuff, a global caliphate (probably what eschatological followers would call the antichrists regime) or little to no islam after some world grinding warfare...

The middle class spends most of their adult lives working to build a secure future for themselves and their families.

Buying a house, having kids, saving for financial security and retirement.

They don't want to make waves and jeopardize it all but more and more they are seeing that those "things" are being taken away from them, often for the benefit of undeserving strangers.

I believe that we are reaching a tipping point where the middle class realizes that they have no say in how they are governed, that their country IS being "fundamentally transformed" into something unrecognizable, that they are not working for their own benefit and that everything that they have, including their freedom, can be taken from them on a whim.

When they have nothing left to lose it will be time.

Unfortunately it may be too late by then.
