Yes, while at first blush it might seem that moderation of Trump’s incendiary rhetoric might be to his advantage, the problem is that Trump has gotten where he is by stoking anger and resentment. When the focus becomes more on his actual policy positions and statements, it’s not good for him.

You mean like’s happened in the past 3 weeks when he noticeably shifted course and tune to hammer on issues?

Even the emergence of the ugly truths about gop back room politics at the grass roots level has now become an issue
