One is more apt to carry if the piece is comfortable (or less uncomfortable) to carry. Hence I prefer polymer.
For carry, Polymer or exotic alloys (Scandium and Titanium, like my S&W 340PD). Everyday carry gun is a Glock 26 or 42. Glock 30 is too damn heavy.
At the range, I love me some 1911 Governement Model, but also shot my Glock 17 and 21).
