You better read up on boot camp and Parris Island, fast.
Of my son’s friends, the 5th one who went to USMC had the “easiest” (not that it is ever easy) time with boot camp, due to he was the recipient of all of the advice the other 4 had to offer. This was very helpful in his success at boot camp, as well as his future in the USMC. So, my free advice would be for him to interview at least several fairly new/young Marines about their experiences. If nothing else, it may keep him from being surprised by some elements of the training and experience.

My son was there June-July and the heat was brutal.
We flew down from MA and I still remember weeping at the graduation.
