“Conservative” is a stretch. He was standing up for Saint Skittles (Trayvon Martin) back when that was going on. He’s pro-NAFTA, probably supports TPP, and is more than likely pro-amnesty as well.

He was in the Reserves. Which means his Army MOS was not one of the "combat arms." I'm assuming he was a direct commission as a lawyer and never went outside the wire when he was deployed.

It's common knowledge that when Reserve units deploy, a Bronze Star is a given. From what I understand.

This pretty much shows "Never Trump" is relegated to a few self-important die-hards at The Weekly Standard and National Review.

Who's French's running mate going to be? Fred Barnes?

Kristol, and anyone associated with him in any way, are dirtbags, deserving nothing but scorn and contempt.

No experience in gov or private sector.
No $$$
No Base support
and this is the best he could come up with?

Might as well open the phone book, close your eyes and point.

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, a prominent leader

Leader of what? That is their problem. They self-proclaim to be "conservative thought leaders", but when they turned around, there was no one following.

Trying to lessen Trump’s margin to give Hillary the Presidency. Wonder what his price was.

If French is really Kristal’s candidate then both Kristal and French have totally lost it, and the GOPe has given up.

But if the GOPe has really given up, then the continued opposition of people like Ryan makes no sense.

This is so obvious to everyone that I strongly suspect something else is going on instead. French is merely a “placeholder” pending the start of something bigger.

There is something real going on behind the scenes. Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, the Bush clan, etc. remain hysterically opposed. They represent the top tier of the GOPe and they will do whatever it takes to hold on to power.

Whatever is really in the works, French is not it.

For instance, John McCain is in a tough primary battle and has weakly endorsed Trump out of necessity. In spite of his age it’s easy to see him deciding to go out in a blaze of glory running for President instead.

In order to access the ballot nationwide, it is estimated that an independent presidential candidate in 2016 would need to collect more than 880,000 signatures.

Bill Kristol hasn’t been relevant since the 2008 election cycle. Ditto for his publication. 99% of Republicans have no clue who David French is.

The Libertarians are likely to draw equally from Hillary and Trump. Might fetch a meaningful percentage of the vote without effecting the outcome. A conservative, on the other hand, would draw exclusively from Trump. Kristol is looking to elect fellow neo-con Hillary. Let’s keep America the world’s policeman.

In any case, this is all a diversion: No name. No money. No ballot status.
