I’ve heard it said that it’s easier for a gay to come out to conservatives, than for them to come out as conservative to other gays.
But like it or not, “Gay” these days is as much of a political statement as it is a sexual one.
I think there is no doubt about that. I saw one on Fox News a few days ago who said just that. At any rate this guy is putting it right in the face of the jihadis with this announcement.

That he came out at this time is to be commended. Conservatives admire the man, have admired the man’s writings for some time now. Knowing what we do now how many will cease to read the words he writes? He is judged on that alone. If he should open the eyes of others, give him a hand. (no puns intended)
That Tweet and endorsement for Trump is actually really huge news.
It seems that some, in this so-called gay community, are no longer fighting for their “right” to be “Out”. That battle is over and they have won.
Some seem to have settled in and are now beginning to address the more important issues that concern everybody.

One of our ministers was married to a minister who came out. My response is “If he was lying about it then (after 2 kids), how do we know he isn’t lying now?”.

I think with what happen it is good that he spoke about his sexual orientation publicly. the fact that he does not use his sexuality as his identity speaks highly for him.

And as to ministers. There are those holding the faithful high. But after being introduced to the numerous televangelists seen on the small screen, even those hold no weight when it comes to truthfulness. Man is not without fault. With lies come consequences. Degrees may vary. This disclosure carries little weight IMHO If stated aloud the question should be asked as to why? Notoriety? Positive results? Negative Results? There is a reason for the admission.
