We have another late goal. And it’s heartbreak for Iceland. Nikolic scampers in behind Hallfredsson and squares acrpss the six-yard box. Saevarsson slides in and attempts to clear but can only turn the ball over the line. You can’t blame him too much – an attacker would have tapped in had he not attempted a clearance and the damage was done out on the left of the Iceland defence.

They could have given Iceland a penalty there. Kind of unfair to make a call on Croatia and not on this. That’s the problem with officiating, it is inconsistent.

Cristiano Ronaldo will become the most capped player in Portugal history tonight. Ronaldo will win his 128th cap tonight, overtaking Luis Figo, who has 127. Ronaldo will also join France’s Lilian Thuram and the Netherlands’ Edwin van der Saar on top of the all time European Championships appearances table with 16, a record he is sure to make his own - fitness permitting - against Hungary next week.
