Martin won’t finish because the internet caught up to him. His whole drive was to unveil that John Snow was the offspring of the Mad King and Ned Stark’s sister. Before the internet, maybe a few people would have figured it out. Because his books are so popular, whole fan sites formed, communicated, guessed the ending, and took away his drive. He has threatened to kill off everyone in a twenty page book as a giant “screw you” to people who spoiled his ending. I can see his point and he doesn’t look to healthy.

The theory is that Jon is the son of Prince Rhaegar, the son of King Aerys II (the mad king).

I’ve never heard if him making a threat. He always takes a long time with these books. Maybe it’s all going to end up in the same place but the show has deviated from much of the book plot.

Mad King and Ned Stark’s sister.

Actually, not the Mad King, but, Rhaegar Targaryan. Jon is half-Stark, half-Targaryn. I think he could be a dragon rider; but those other two dragons look a little small. I am now wondering about Tyrion's background, as he walked up to the dragons, touched them, spoke to them, before he released them. Is there a touch of Targaryn in Tyrion? When Tywin Lannister would constantly say that he was no son of his, etc.; perhaps he meant something other than Tyrion being a dwarf?
