I’m guessing “college algebra” is what I think of as H.S. freshman algebra? And the gifted kids could take it in the 8th grade?

Why does a LBGT, women’s or black studies major need algebra? What they need is graphic arts to make cool posters.

Back when I took College Algebra, it was like HS Algebra II.

“College Algebra” is more like what most high schools call “pre-calculus”, a bit more advanced than freshman high school algebra, but yeah, definitely usually a high school level course.

Homeschool students typically take algebra before 8th grade. My engineering student sons find that the average college student - even in a very selective school - is dumber than an Obama/Hillary love child.
