Only property owners were allowed to vote in the early days. Giving everyone the right to vote was a mistake. Look at all the gimme’ people, the low-information voters - who don’t give a crap about fairness or what is right and just, just keep their free stuff coming....

Interesting recent elections has demonstrated progressive elites like democracy only when the people vote for their candidate or program. Note the efforts to prevent Trump and Sanders from becoming the nominees of their parties. Note the unwillingness of Jeb, Cruz, Kasich, Graham, Romney and others to accept the votes of the people to the point they have violated their word of honor. Imagine one of the founding father signing a public pledge and then violating an oath when a candidate he didn’t like was chosen.
Could we say Wilson was the first to corrupt it?
