How sad is that. There was once a time when there was shame in being on the dole, a stigma attached, and not by the rest of society, but a self-imposed shame.

Because it WAS shameful, they did away with food stamps and went to EBT cards. Looks just like a credit card, scans like a credit card, no shame required.
