It looks like the toe of her shoe caught as she was being dragged and kind of flipped up above her heel...and fell to the ground.

No, that can’t be it. Watch it in “full screen” mode right at the 0:43-0:44 mark. Something small flashes into view, and her shoe is still on her foot.

Yes, she lost her shoe, but the dropped item happened before losing her shoe and falls just next to the silver cylinder.
