Yep. And if for any reason the Electoral College doesn’t name a president, then the House of Representatives elects one, with one vote for each state, meaning Republicans choose. I’m sure that would suit the GOPe just fine, they could elect one of their own, but there will not be a third Obama term.

Except they didn't vote for Hillary, they voted for the Dem Electors. If Biden replaces Hillary, people would still be voting for the same Electors. Of course, as you said, the Dem Electors still have to win the state in order to cast their ballots for President (which will be difficult), but the early votes will not be discarded. The Electors that are being voted on are still there.
If Hillary’s out, the Donks’ only viable replacement is Crazy Bernie. Anyone else, and their base will revolt (not that some of them won’t anyway, even with Hillary as the nominee).
